Outgoing Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa embarked on a 24-hour tour of Los Angeles early Friday, planning to make stops at iconic restaurants and landmarks along the way.

Villaraigosa travels across LA for farewell bus tour
Outgoing Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa embarked on a 24-hour tour of Los Angeles early Friday, planning to make stops at iconic restaurants and landmarks along the way.
Villaraigosa's office says it's the mayor's way of thanking Angelenos for two mayoral terms.
The mayor started this morning at City Hall and continued on to the Port of L.A. and the Challengers Boys and Girls Club before noon.
Our media partner NBC4 was there in the morning as the mayor met with some longshore union members in Wilmington.
"I feel a great deal of gratitude to these guys, and I have settled their strike a few months ago to put them back to work, so I think I got a few friends in here," Villaraigosa said.
The mayor also attended an LAPD news conference and planned to attend a couple of goodbye parties later in the day.
As for the overnight part of his tour, Villaraigosa will try to throw strikes at Pinz Bowling before showing off his dance moves at the Conga Room.

The campaign-style tour will wrap up Saturday with sunrise at the Griffith Observatory. Eric Garcetti's inauguration is set for Sunday evening.
Villaraigosa and others in the community have taken to social media to post photos from various spots along the tour including Pink's Hot Dogs and California Science Center.
