Teens sought in Koreatown burglaries

Police today sought the public’s help in finding a teen burglary crew that targeted Koreatown businesses. Three burglars forced their way into a commercial building on Sept. 20 at 11:45 p.m. in the 3500 block of West Olympic Boulevard. They then pried into office suites and made off with cash, jewelry and laptop computers.

Cameras caught some of the activity, including the suspects trying to avoid being identified by covering their faces, wearing ‘hoodies’ or goggles, and blocking the camera by taping paper over the lens.

One suspect is described as a female Korean about 14 to 17-years-old, with black hair. She was wearing a gray tank top and dark-colored pants. She is about 5 feet to 5-feet, 4-inches tall, and weighs between 100 and 115 pounds.

The second suspect is described as a female black about 14 to 17-years-old, with black hair. She was wearing a black T-shirt, blue jeans and black canvas shoes. She is about 5 feet to 5-foot-4. She weighs between 100 and 120 pounds.

The third suspect is described as either a male Korean or Hispanic, between 14 to 17-years-old. He has black hair and was wearing a white T-shirt. He is about 5-foot-2 to 5-foot-4 and weighs between 115 and 150 pounds.

Police encouraged to review their security plans and to keep money and other valuables in safes or secured locations and out of public view.

"Employees can also help by keeping an eye out for suspicious persons and report anyone who could be 'casing' the business," police cautioned in a press release.
