Sierra Fire: 40 percent contained, evacuations in effect

The Sierra Fire — burning more than 200 acres in the Lytle Creek area of the Cajon Pass — is 40 percent contained, and full containment is expected Friday, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Evacuations are in effect for residents on Glen Helen Road west of Interstate 15 and Glen Helen Road is closed west of Glen Helen Parkway.
Evacuations remained in effect on Glen Helen Road west of Interstate 15 late Tuesday and they were to become voluntary at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday, according to Banning-Beaumont Patch.
