Riverside County first responders raise money for Giants fan beaten at Dodger Stadium
Riverside County first responders are launching a fundraising effort for Bryan Stow. He’s the Santa Cruz paramedic and San Francisco Giants fan beaten after a Dodgers game six weeks ago.
Stow was wearing Giants orange when he was attacked in the Dodger Stadium parking lot after the season opener between the rival teams. Last week, doctors at L.A. County-USC Medical Center said the 42-year-old paramedic was stable enough to be moved to a hospital closer to his Bay-area home.
Stow’s assailants are still on the loose. An advertising firm plans to erect 2OO billboards with police sketches of the two suspects. There’s also a $100,000 reward for information leading to arrests and convictions.
Riverside County paramedics are teaming up with a Corona restaurant to help pay Stow’s medical bills. Proceeds from the fundraiser will also help pay for his family’s travel expenses.
The Riverside County fundraiser kicks off Thursday at the Hot Dog Shoppe in Corona. The event is being held during national Emergency Medical Services week. People can also leave donations any time at Support4BryanStow.com.
