Premature births are on the rise in LA, California and across the U.S.
The rates of preterm birth ticked up for the third year in a row, according to the latest premature birth report card from the nonprofit March of Dimes. Babies born prematurely are much more likely to die.
California scored a B, but the rates vary widely throughout the state and there are huge racial disparities.
