New Law Allows Reusable Food Containers At Concerts And Festivals
Festival-goers and restaurant patrons will soon be able to bring their own reusable containers to carry out their favorite foods and beverages under a new law signed by Governor Newsom. The bill sponsored by Assemblyman David Chiu of San Francisco is aimed at reducing overflowing piles of trash that accumulate near food stalls at public events.
The new law, which takes effect in January 2020, allows consumers to get their orders filled in their own container. Restaurant patrons can also bring along containers for takeout or leftovers.
