Map: 'Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over' campaign means more LAPD DUI checkpoints through Labor Day weekend
Police are planning sobriety checkpoints again this weekend to bust drunk drivers across Southern California.
The checkpoints are part of a national “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign that started last weekend and continues through Labor Day.
“The end of summer, when so many folks are on vacation or have time off together with friends and family, alcohol crashes are on the rise. We’re addressing those with extra officers out on the road,” said Wayne Ziese with the California Office of Traffic Safety.
Ziese said officers are planning to work overtime at about 150 checkpoints in the state through Labor Day.
Police announced several of those checkpoints in the Los Angeles area for Friday and Saturday night, Aug. 24-25, which you can see on the map below:
