LA Music Center, Dizzy Feet Foundation to host flash mob dance
Tomorrow is the first “National Dance Day” and organizers with the Dizzy Feet Foundation are promoting “flash mob” dances across the country to celebrate.
Hundreds of people are expected to gather 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Los Angeles Music Center Plaza, to participate in the free event, said Howard Sherman, chief operating officer at the center.
"We’re going to do a warm up and we’re going to do some teaching of the dance to make sure everybody knows what it is they’re going to do. And then some time, 10:30, 10:45, is when we’ll actually start doing the big dance event."
Sherman said the national dance will last about eight minutes.

The idea was created by dancer Nigel Lythgoe, a producer and judge on “So You Think You Can Dance,” to promote dance as an enjoyable way to stay fit and counter obesity.
Hope Street between 1st Street and Temple Street will be closed until about 12:30 p.m. to accommodate the event.
