LA Supes to escalate legal fight with Sheriff over his discipline policies

This story aired on Monday, March 11, 2019.

The L.A. County Board of Supervisors is getting ready to fire another volley in its legal battle with Sheriff Alex Villanueva over his discipline policies. On Tuesday the supervisors are set to vote on a motion that would instruct the sheriff to stop work on his "Truth and Reconciliation" panel.

You come to LAist because you want independent reporting and trustworthy local information. Our newsroom doesn’t answer to shareholders looking to turn a profit. Right now, LAist has lost $1.7M in annual funding due to Congress clawing back money already approved. The support we receive from readers like you will determine how fully our newsroom can continue informing, serving, and strengthening Southern California.
