Inglewood passes rent control measure and temporarily bans evictions

On Tuesday, Inglewood’s City Council unanimously passed a 45-day moratorium on rent hikes exceeding 5 percent per year. They also voted to halt evictions during that time period.

They said they’re suffering as wealthier newcomers are attracted to the neighborhood by developments like the Crenshaw rail line and and the new NFL stadium.
