Hundreds of thousands of LA County voters cast provisional ballots this election
The number of Los Angeles County voters who ran into problems at the polls this Nov. 6 and cast provisional ballots soared to at least 400,000, nearly four times higher than in the 2014 midterm general election.
Rey Lopez-Calderon, incoming executive director of California Common Cause, said the nonprofit ran an election hotline. It received over 900 calls for help from L.A. County voters the day of the election.
Changes to polling places caused issues, he said, as did some poll workers who weren’t informed enough to help.
