Hundreds of mourners are expected to attend this week’s funeral of 16-year old Andrew Jackson. The teenager was murdered last week in Redlands by an unknown gunman. The other victim - Quinn McCaleb - was buried last weekend.

The public service for Andrew Jackson is being held Wednesday morning at the University of Redlands Memorial Chapel.

Jackson and 17-year old Quinn McCaleb were gunned down earlier this month outside the apartment complex where both young men lived.

Authorities say mounting tensions between a group of black and Latino teenagers may have sparked the shooting. Jackson and McCaleb are African American.

Detectives believe the gunman is Latino.

During a large prayer vigil last week, local clergy called on young people to keep the peace and avoid further bloodshed. A message echoed by Father Michael Fincher of Trinity Episcopal Church.

“And by coming together, hopefully that light of Christ will shine a little brighter in this town," said Fincher. "And if that can happen, while there’s no explaining the senseless loss of those two boys, if we can shine a little brighter and carry that out into the community, maybe those boys will not have died in vain."

A $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the killer. Andrew Jackson's public funeral Wednesday is being held at the University of Redlands Memorial Chapel. It starts at 11 a.m.
