Firefighters knock down 20-acre grass fire in Redlands
Firefighters in Redlands this afternoon knocked down a grass fire that burned 20 acres off the the eastbound 10 Freeway near the Wabash exit.
The fire broke out at 11:45 a.m. and quickly raced up the hill next to the road. Bill Peters, a spokesman with Cal Fire San Bernardino, said firefighters manged to quickly get hold of it.
There are no more active flames, but there are still some hot spots. Hand crews are working on mop-up efforts.
No injuries or damaged structures were reported. The eastbound 10 Freeway remains closed at Ford Street.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
