Governor Gavin Newsom proclaimed April 30 as El Día de los Niños, Children’s Day. In recognition, California’s newly-appointed surgeon general, Dr. Nadine Burke Harris, visited Locke Early Education Center in Watts to read to students and hear the concerns of staff.
