California Legislature Passes Laotian History Bill
A group of Laotians based in San Diego County led a statewide effort to include Laotian history in state textbooks.

This morning, the California State Legislature passed AB 1393, which promotes the teaching of Laotian history and culture in public schools.
This comes after last year's passage of another bill that taught about Southeast Asian history in California schools. But it left out mention of Laos.
