Authorities investigate possible sightings of woman missing for 11 months
Los Angeles authorities say a 25-year-old woman missing since last September may have been seen in Las Vegas.
Mitrice Richardson disappeared after deputies released her from an L.A. County Sheriff’s station in the early morning. The Cal State Fullerton graduate was arrested for not paying an $89 restaurant bill.
LAPD Captain Kevin McClure told reporters in Las Vegas that Richardson may have been seen at the Rio Hotel.
"This is the first lead in the 10 months that we’ve been doing this that we are unable to show that it is not a good lead," said McClure. "It is not a verified sighting of her here, but we feel good enough to come up here and spend a great deal of time to get the information out to the community."
Richardson’s father says a Sheriff’s official told him that dozens of possible sightings of his daughter have been reported in Las Vegas. Richardson suffers from bipolar disorder.
