Alleged kidnapper of actor Jeremy London set free after taking plea deal
A Coachella Valley man accused of kidnapping and robbing actor Jeremy London last year has admitted to false imprisonment and stolen vehicle charges.
As he drove through Palm Springs last June, Jeremy London pulled over to change a flat. Two men stopped to help.
London says they robbed him at gunpoint and forced him to buy drugs and alcohol. The former “Party of Five” star said his captors also forced him to take ecstasy and smoke an unknown substance.
London says he agreed because he feared for his life. Some people, including London’s twin brother, were skeptical of the story because the actor has a history of drug abuse.
Alleged kidnapper Brandon Adams claims that London was not a victim but a willing participant. Adams had been scheduled to go on trial at the end of this month.
He’s pleaded guilty to kidnapping and carjacking charges. The court sentenced him to 16 months in state prison – then released him because of time served. London told a Palm Springs newspaper that Adams’ conviction is “proof that I’ve been telling the truth the whole time.”
