Blue Palms Brew House announced that it will be closing its doors next week—at least temporarily—when the operators of the Music Box at the Henry Fonda are evicted. The tenure of the bar and restaurant housed inside the Music Box was thrown into jeopardy, because it sub-leases its space through the music venue, which shut down earlier this month.

Some people consider sushi master Kazunomi Nozawa the "sushi Nazi" of Los Angeles, thanks to years of his giving customers at Studio City's Sushi Nozawa sushi as he sees fit. Now, as Squid Ink reports, it seems the reign of "tyranny" is coming to an end: Sushi Nozawa will close on February 29.

The price of coffee at Philippe's in Chinatown is going to quadruple in price starting next Thursday—which means it's going to go up an entire 36 cents. Since 1977, the price of coffee at Philippe's has been only 9 cents, but the legendary restaurant on Alameda Street (that claims to have invented the French dip) posted a notice today letting its customers know that coffee was going to cost a little more than it used to.

Today the USDA implemented new nutritional standards for school lunches, including allowing the two tablespoons of tomato paste on frozen pizza to count as a serving of vegetables. Yep, according to our government, pizza is a vegetable.

Taco Bell is testing out a (relatively) fresher, healthier menu that it's dubbed "Cantina Bell." If you want to give the new menu a try, you're in luck because one of the two markets that are getting a test run is just 90 minutes to the North in Bakersfield (the other is in Kentucky).
