Jennie Martorana, co-founder of Eagle Rock's revered Casa Bianca pizza restaurant, died June 16 of complications due to a stroke. Martorana and her late husband Sam, founded the beloved eatery with Sam's brother Joe in 1955. She was 88.

Tomorrow, the Bob Barker Building in Echo Park will turn into a pet adoption, and we're not talking pooches. PETA rescued 78 chooks from an abandoned egg farm outside Turlock, Calif., where an estimated 50,000 chickens were left in battery cages for two weeks without food or water.
