Your SoCal Weather Report for Tuesday, Nov. 28: Winter Is Here — A SoCal Winter, That Is
It’s beginning to feel a little like winter — a Southern California winter that is.
Temperatures will hit a high of 71 during the day before dropping to near freezing conditions in interior areas, increasing the risk for hypothermia and plant damage. Places like Pasadena could see temps drop to as low as 46 while Long Beach is expected to have temps drop to 49 overnight. So make sure to bundle up.
Looking ahead for the week, Los Angeles County could see some light rain later on. And for those in the Grapevine/Tejon Pass area, there is a slight chance of snowfall later this week.
Orange County will see similar temperatures with highs in the lows 70s with nighttime temperatures dipping to the low 50s.
Today in history
In 1975, the first winter storm was heavy, bringing 16 inches of rain to Big Bear Lake. Twenty campers were stranded for several days before being rescued.
Things to do
Cold nights are perfect for snuggling under a blanket with a mug of hot cocoa. My colleague Manny Valladares compiled some great TV shows to watch over Thanksgiving break, but who’s to say you need to limit it to then?
'Tis the season for cookies too. So if you do end up baking some chocolate chip treats, make sure you bring some in for your colleagues. Here’s hoping someone at the LAist office reads this and takes the hint.
