LADWP customers can get a $60 air purifier for around $5 right now — with free shipping. Here’s how
Topline:
As Los Angeles deals with fire season and fluctuating air quality, LADWP customers can get an air purifier shipped to their home for the price of sale tax.
Here’s what to do: First, make sure you’re an LADWP customer. If you are, find a bill or log in online to find your account number — you’ll need to input your address and account information to use the rebate. Then, go to this page on LADWP’s website and add the air purifier to your cart. You should see something like this:
Is this for real?: I can personally confirm my purchase had no hidden fees, other than the sales tax on the $49.99 purchase. Be aware that the total seen above depends on a discount going on right now at many retailers, so if it ends the price would go up to about $15 including tax (still not a bad deal). It only let me add one purifier to my cart, for the record.
How long will this rebate last?: LAist has reached out to LADWP to confirm.
Shipping options: The order is fulfilled by Best Buy, and the one-week shipping option I chose was free. You can also pay for expedited shipping if you need it sooner.
About the purifier: It’s a small Levoit air purifier with a nightlife that can handle rooms of about 250 square feet. You can find more specifications on LADWP’s website, including its energy efficiency ratings.
Other rebates: Though most of the rebates on the LADWP site aren’t instant rebates, you can still use them for a variety of energy-efficient devices, including air conditioners, TVs and smart thermostats. Some of the rebates are up to $100 — you can explore the offerings here.
