Is it just me or does this early morning fog and drizzle make you feel like you're living in Forks, Washington next door to a family of vampires and werewolves?

Expect scattered drizzle and patchy fog in the morning before the clouds start to clear around 11 in the morning, making way for some afternoon sunshine.

Today's highs will be in the 70s for most of Southern California from the coast into the valleys. It'll be a bit cooler in the mountains with temperatures reaching the upper 60s. In Riverside, San Bernardino and the Inland Empire, temperatures will rise to the low 80s. Highs in the low desert have dropped to the 90s, 80s in the high desert, with a high of 98 in Coachella Valley.

And throughout the region, nighttime lows will dip into the low 60s with more patchy fog and light drizzle.

Taking a look ahead: The cooler weather is here to stay for the rest of the week. On Thursday, strong gusts up to 45 mph are expected over in Coachella Valley.

On this day in 1989, an unseasonably cold storm for September brought early snow to the San Gabriel and San Bernardino Mountains where up to 5 inches of snow was recorded in Lake Arrowhead and Running Springs.
