We're in for a cloudy morning and you may have caught some early morning drizzle, but don't worry because the clouds will break away for afternoon sunshine.

  • Mountains/deserts: 60s/56-72
  • Inland: 60s

Coastal areas will see highs in the upper 60s and a little breezy with light northwest winds — so if plan to walk off that Thanksgiving dinner by the beach, bring a jacket.

Things to do

We can officially say it's the holiday season! Head to Solvang for holiday festivities, or try something different and go on an outdoor adventure.

  • Solvang Julefest: Solvang, nicknamed “The Danish Capital of America,” opens its seasonal holiday celebration this weekend. Take a trip to the Santa Ynez wine country for Solvang Julefest 2023, which features events taking place throughout the walkable town from now through Jan. 6. Daily happenings include a free light and music show in Solvang Park. Future events include the tree lighting ceremony on Dec. 1, a makers market on Dec. 6, and a candlelight tour on select dates.
  • Seeking adventure? The day after Thanksgiving can find you snacking on holiday leftovers, or it can be the day you launch a life of outdoor adventure. Writer Caroline Paul votes for adventure, especially for women over 50. Paul wrote a book on why outdoor adventures are important as we age. You can listen to our conversation with Paul here.

Right now, LAist has lost $1.7M in annual funding due to Congress clawing back money already approved. The support we receive from readers like you will determine how fully our newsroom can continue informing, serving, and strengthening Southern California.
