Freezing conditions expected tonight for some parts of the Southland

Good morning and welcome back to Monday. We're in for a chilly morning and night as forecasters say some parts of the Southland will experience freezing conditions.

Look for sunny skies today and temperatures in the mid to high 60s across the Southland. Along the coast, we're looking at highs in the low 60s.. Temperatures in L.A. County valleys and the Inland Empire will range in the mid 60s.

In the high desert, temperatures will be slightly cooler, with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s, and up to 73 degrees in Palm Springs.

Tonight's lows will feel very chilly with temperatures dropping into the mid 40s and low 30s.

A warming trend is expected to come tomorrow.

About the wind and freeze advisory

Weak Santa Ana winds will continue later this afternoon into tomorrow for the San Fernando and Santa Clarita valleys, including the 5 Freeway corridor. Forecasters say the wind gusts will be strongest tonight, with north winds between 20 to 35 mph expected, and gusts up to 55 mph.

There's a freeze advisory for the Antelope Valley foothills starting late tonight into Tuesday morning.
