Topline:

UCLA has advanced to the Final Four in this year's NCAA women's basketball tournament. USC lost to No. 2 seed UConn, ending any hopes for a SoCal semifinal rematch.

Without their star players: UCLA beat Louisiana State on Sunday without star center Lauren Betts, who spent the entire second quarter on the bench after committing two fouls. USC beat Kansas State on Saturday without their star JuJu Watkins, who suffered a season-ending knee injury five days before. But the Trojans couldn’t get past UConn on Monday night, losing 64-78.

What's next: The semifinal between the Bruins and the Huskies will be Friday, on ESPN; start time to be announced.
