Queer LA LIVE: Wellness for Joy
- The Crawford, 474 S. Raymond Ave., Pasadena
Queer LA is your space to help you get the most out of LGBTQ+ life in Greater Los Angeles, a long-term project to help you figure out things big and small — with a focus on joy. And now we’re bringing that joy to the stage. Queer LA LIVE is a new live event series that will explore what brings us joy, how we build community, and where we can find spaces to connect nearby.
On November 30, host Caitlin Hernández (they/them) will talk with Ana Sheila Victorino (they/them), co-founder of Bask & Being and co-host of the Tamarindo podcast, Dr. Mikey Martinez (they/them) a queer, Mexican, clinical psychologist, Sam Rypinski (he/him), founder and general manager, EVERYBODY, and Puja Singh Titchkosky (they/them), yoga instructor at EVERYBODY. We’ll all get to do some gentle movement and guided meditation together as well. After the show, stick around for a DJ set from DJ Vonkiss. And we want to hear your stories of joy too! Tell us all about it here.

ABOUT ANA SHEILA VICTORINO
Ana Sheila Victorino is a queer Mexican-born wellness entrepreneur. She is the co-founder of Bask and Being, a workplace wellness company that believes human and employee well-being should be at the center of how businesses and organizations do business and life.
With a background in technology, a health injury was the catalyst for a pivot in her career. She left the corporate world to pursue projects that help folks experience more health, liberation, career, and personal fulfillment. As part of that mission, she’s also co-led Launch Latinx, a holistic coaching and self-development program for Latinx entrepreneurs and creatives.
Originally from Mexico City, Ana Sheila grew up in Little Village, a Mexican and Puerto Rican neighborhood in Chicago that sparked her life-long commitment to community involvement and activism.
Ana Sheila received her BA from Stanford and an MBA from UCLA where she was the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion student lead. A long-time Los Angeles resident, Ana Sheila is currently based in the Boyle Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles. She is a fitness and basketball super fan, and is currently working on her Bachata moves.
ABOUT DR. MIKEY MARTINEZ
Dr. Mikey Martinez is a queer, Mexican, clinical psychologist. They earned their Doctor of Clinical Psychology degree with a focus on Community Psychology at the University of La Verne. Their graduate program helped them view their clients in their environmental context and how their environment impacts the client’s mental health. As such, Dr. Mikey practices from a anti-racist, anti-capitalist perspective. They often utilize somatic interventions to help people reconnect and feel safe in their bodies. It is when we embody who we fully are, that we can crate the change we want to see not only in our lives but in the world around us.
ABOUT SAM RYPINSKI
Sam Rypinski (he/him) is founder of EVERYBODY gym and owner of SIBLING, an arts and film studio space located in Los Angeles. ABOUT PUJA TITCHKOSKY
Mx Puja Singh aka Puja Singh Titchkosky (they/them) is a queer, non-binary trans, Indian-Canadian, singer/songwriter/producer + yoga/meditation guide based in Los Angeles, California (born in Vancouver, BC). Coming from an Indian background (Punjabi Sikh) and being deeply in love with India from a young age, Puja is constantly learning more about their own lineage and the practices and traditions that come from this beautiful land and culture. Puja’s work is informed by and shared through a lens of decolonization and the dismantling of oppressive systems of power (white supremacy, patriarchy, capitalism, etc).
