LAist + KCET ARTBOUND Screening Series: Artists-In-Residence

Join us for the next event in our LAist + KCET ARTBOUND Screening Series with a screening of Artists-In-Residence. This new documentary examines the role of these residency programs in creating space for new art to grow and flourish. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion led by Antonia Cereijido (she/her), host of the Imperfect Paradise podcast from LAist Studios. Bling Bling Dumpling will be onsite starting at 6 p.m. to offer some fresh, handmade food concepts featuring Taiwanese eats crafted in eco-friendly practice.

“Artists-In-Residence– Wed., Oct. 25 at 9 p.m. on KCET / Fri., Oct. 27 at 8 p.m. on PBS SoCal

Artists-In-Residence programs provide opportunities to artists like Céline Brunko, Christine Lee and Carol Zou to have time and space to create new work, engage with different communities and cultures while growing as artists and people. This film explores the meaning, value and experience of artist-in-residence programs, as seen through the first-person perspectives of these three disparate artists in unique residencies around Southern California. Features several regional institutions including MAK Artists and Architects-in-Residence Program, SDSU Furniture Design and Woodworking Artists-In-Residence Program and LA County Creative Strategists Program.

ABOUT ANTONIA CEREIJIDO
Antonia Cereijido has served as Executive Producer at LAist Studios and was the host of the LAist podcast Norco '80. She was a producer for six years on NPR’s Latino USA and hosted her own segment, The Breakdown. She has hosted podcasts for Mic and Slate. Her work has appeared in The New York Times, NPR’s Code Switch, and All Things Considered.
