All The Food We Tried At The LA County Fair

Your arteries might hate you but your Instagram followers will heart you. It's L.A. County Fair season, a month-long opportunity to shorten your lifespan as you revel in all manner of gloriously gluttonous food, preferably dusted in Flamin' Hot Cheetos and served on a stick.
Fried cheesecake. Fried cookie dough. Fried pineapples. Glazed donut towers. Funnel cakes pumped full of banana pudding. And something called a "nitro churro." So go ahead and hoist a giant turkey leg in one hand and brandish a breaded, deep-fried delicacy in the other. Good luck and godspeed. It was nice knowing you. -- Elina Shatkin
The L.A. County Fair is open from August 30 to September 22, Wednesdays through Sundays, and on Labor Day.
HOT CHEETO EVERYTHING

Hot Cheetos on everything seems to be the move at the fair this year. Chicken Charlie's is serving up a deep fried burrito filled with buffalo chicken and dipped in hot cheeto's dust.

A tasty blend of cheesy popcorn and hot cheetos may be one of the simpler offerings at the fair this year but it's one of the tastiest. Sometimes simple is good.
CHEESE PLEASE
If spicy snacks aren't your bag, maybe these cheesey treats are more your speed.

What's better than a grilled cheese? A rainbow grilled cheese. Spectra Food Service's perfectly toasted golden buttered bread really helps the multi colored cheese shine. One of the prettiest creations at the fair.

Sharp Concessions serves up a different take on street corn with their unicorn corn.

STONE AGE DESSERTS

Fruity Pebbles are like the sweet and bubbly costar to Hot Cheeto's messy lead at this years fair.

INFUSION CONFUSION

RCS staff prepares a nitrogen infused churro treat.

That's not smoke you see there, that's liquid nitrogen evaporating from this RCS Concession's Nitrochurros. Crunchy churro twists mixed with popcorn, infused with nitrogen, and topped in caramel.

THE ONE VEGAN THING WE SAW

Vegan? No problem. Govinda's Veggie Bombs has you covered with their Jackfruit tacos drenched in a home made tofu cream.

Speaking frankly, the amount of reader support we receive will help determine how strong of a newsroom we are going forward to cover the important news in our community.
