In this weekend edition: Medi-cal is expanding its emotional advocacy and educational support for low income families during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period.

As part of this transformation, the state plans to bring several types of non-traditional health care workers, such as doulas, into the Medi-Cal workforce.

But, as Early Education Correspondent Mariana Dale reports, it could take several months to get the program up and running.
