The Frame 'First': Jason Reitman feels the music of 'Stripes'

Director Jason Reitman grew up around film. While his father, Ivan Reitman, was directing the military comedy "Stripes," Jason sat in on the scoring process and was overcome by the music:

The first time I was on a scoring stage — I was four years old — and Elmer Bernstein was conducting the score for "Stripes." It was on what is now the Warner Brothers lot in a scoring stage that still exists in the Clint Eastwood building. And I remember standing in the midst of a 100-piece orchestra and almost feeling the wind that comes out of the brass instruments and feeling the vibration of the string instruments and knowing that, somehow, I just wanted to be around music for the rest of my life.

Jason Reitman's most recent film was "Men, Women & Children."
