Dominic Cooper has appeared in both the Marvel movies and on TV as Howard Stark, the father of Iron Man himself, Tony Stark. He was most recently a part of ABC's "Agent Carter," but now he's got a new comic book role to put under his belt: lead character Jesse Custer in AMC's "Preacher" for Marvel's competition over at DC.
One of the show's producers, Seth Rogen, made the announcement on Twitter.

"Preacher" is based on one of the most critically acclaimed series in comics, which ran from 1995-2000 under DC Comics' Vertigo imprint. It's a supernatural story about a Texas preacher with the ability to make anyone do what he says, with a dark comic undertone.
Several other members of the cast are already in place — including the actor playing "Arseface," whose face resembles, well, you can figure it out.
Still, "Agent Carter" remains on the bubble, and this could leave the show without its Stark if the show gets picked up for another season. The character played a major role in the first season as well as in the short that was released before the series debuted, but now Cooper has the chance to move from recurring player to star.

DC has a lot of shows on TV currently, with several more in the pilot stage. Several of their darker shows are launching under the Vertigo imprint, including "iZombie" on the CW and pilot "Lucifer" for Fox.
