The contents of a 50-year-old time capsule buried at a Dana Point beach were publicly unveiled for the first time since1966. What did they find?

The year was 1966. Local officials in the coastal community of Dana Point were getting ready for a groundbreaking ceremony at the harbor. So, they did what a lot of towns did to preserve a little bit of history - they put together a time capsule.

Monday afternoon, the contents of that time capsule were revealed to the public. Orange County Register reporter Erika Ritchie was there for the event and she joined the show to speak about some of the contents they found in the time capsule and how Dana Point has changed in 50 years.
