Wells Fargo cyber attack linked to controversial anti-Islam movie

The Justice Department announced Thursday that Wells Fargo Bank, the largest residential home mortgage originator in the United States, will pay nearly $175 million to settle accusations of discrimination against qualified African-American and Hispanic borrowers between 2004 and 2009. The alleged discrimination is in violation of fair-lending laws.

Wells Fargo cyber attack linked to controversial anti-Islam movie

Yesterday was a day full of disruptions for Wells Fargo customers, as they couldn’t reliably access the company’s website.

This was a result of cyber attacks that were launched in response to the YouTube video insulting Muhammad, by a group calling itself Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Cyber.

We talk to security expert Brian Krebs to find out more about the cyber attack.
