The Powerhouse Fire in the Angeles National Forest has burned nearly 30,000acres and destroyed six homes.
Six hundred firefighters from throughout Southern California are working to contain the 1,500-acre fire.

Dennis "Pop" Immel is a resident of Lake Hughes. He spent the night protecting his home. "I was running around going from section to section, and hosing and putting hot spots out," said Immel. Several of his neighbors homes are gone.

The Powerhouse Fire in the Angeles National Forest has burned nearly 30,000acres and destroyed six homes.

The Powerhouse Fire in the Angeles National Forest has burned nearly 30,000acres and destroyed six homes. Thousands of people have been evacuated and in some areas the fire has been fueled by brush that hasn't burned in 74 years. There are also other smaller fires burning throughout Los Angeles County.
