In the '80 surfer Tom Carroll was at the top of his game, but then a drug addiction took hold. The struggle has been chronicled by Tom's brother Nick in their recently published book.

In the 1980s surfer Tom Carroll was at the top of his game, winning two world surfing championships, getting lucrative sponsorship deals and living as one of the best surfers in the world. The entire time his brother - Nick - a surf journalist - was by his side.

But over the next twenty years, Tom's life fell apart as his addiction to meth took over. Nick and Tom have chronicled these ups and down in the book "Tom Carroll," and they sit down with A Martinez to talk about it.
