While other host cities go into staggering debt, LA made a profit. A look into the legacy of the 1932 and 1984 Olympics, and what 2024 could bring to the city.

If the 2024 Olympics come to the U.S., the games will come right here, to Los Angeles.

LA is one of five in the world competing to host the event - and the only US city in the running.

But this isn't LA's first rodeo, it hosted the 1932 and 1984 Olympiads and what those games said about the city is part of an ongoing series titled Third LA at Occidental College.
