The Police's Andy Summers talks about fame, regret and being the biggest band of the era

The year was 1978, and a young British trio, who would go on to become one of the most influential bands of the era, released their first album, called Outlandous D'Amour.

That band was the Police. Drummer Stewart Copeland, guitarist Andy Summers and bassist/lead singer Sting.

They went on to rule the early 80's and 90's, but then they abruptly broke up.

That breakup, along with the rise of the band is the subject of a new documentary featuring Andy Summers. It's called, Can't Stand Losing You.

Here's the theatrical trailer for the film:

Here's their first hit off their ... and the song for which the documentary is based, "Can't Stand Losing You."

And of course, their mega hit ... Roxanne

Andy stopped by Take Two in April 2015 to talk about the film and his time with the band.
