The Milk Carton Kids hail from Southern California, but they are know all over the country for their beautiful guitar work and vocal harmonies

For their new album, called "Monterey," they did something a little different.

Rather than record in a traditional studio - they recorded songs from the album in the venues where they were scheduled to perform in. 

They talked to host Alex Cohen all about their cross-country adventures, and what it was like foregoing a studio to capture the sound of the road.
