L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti has faced his first big fight of his administration. He and the City Council were trying to negotiate a contract with the powerful union that represents Department of Water and Power workers, but the mayor and council didn't seem to be on the same page all the time. Texas Governor Rick Perry, a possible presidential contender, is the headliner at the October convention. Is this a big score for Brulte?

Eric Garcetti is moving to inactive duty with the Navy.
