Truckloads of chili peppers are making their way to the city of Irwindale, just east of Los Angeles, to be ground into Sriracha hot sauce. It's a process once considered a smelly, eye-watering public nuisance, which brought on several official complaints not too long ago.

But now, with special odor control filters in place, and a new open-door policy at the plant, things are changing. You can read KPCC's Sharon McNary's report here.
