Only two and a half years after its launch, the cable news channel Al Jazeera America is shutting down.
America Tonight in the network's studio space in Washington, DC. Al Jazeera America, a cable news network that launched on August 20, has 12 bureaus in major cities in the US, three broadcast centers, a headquarters in New York City, and around 900 journalists and staff.

Only two and a half years after its launch, the cable news channel Al Jazeera America is shutting down.

The network announced yesterday that it will be going off the air by the end of April.
