Newly released documents show Retired Cardinal Roger Mahoney and other high-ranking officials in the diocese stymied police investigations of alleged abuse.

Newly released documents from the Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles show Retired Cardinal Roger Mahoney and other high-ranking officials in the diocese stymied police investigations of alleged abuse.

The papers are part of a civil lawsuit filed years ago by abuse victims. A judge recently ordered the church to release the documents without redacting the names of church officials.
