The Mountain Fire in Riverside County is expected to be 100 percent contained Tuesday after scorching 27,531 acres in the San Bernardino National Forest near Idyllwild. The fire, which destroyed 23 structures, started July 15. (File photo: One of the structures destroyed by the Mountain Fire).

The Mountain Fire continues to burn in the mountains above Palm Springs, and about 25,000 acres have burned since the fire began Monday afternoon.
