Head to Downey this weekend for the Apollo Space Capsule Holiday Lighting Party

It's home to the world's oldest McDonald's and the site of the first ever Taco Bell.

But the city of Downey is more than just a touchstone in the history of fast food. It played a big role in pop music - the Beach Boys grew up there.

And in putting a man on the moon.

The rockets and landing craft for the Apollo Space Program were built at a NASA plant in Downey which is why Charles Phoenix will be there this weekend.

He's hosting a holiday lighting party tomorrow at the city's Columbia Memorial Space Center. He spoke with Alex Cohen and gave her a sneak preview.
