Guatemalan war survivors face justice, pain

Update: Ex-Guatemalan soldier sentenced to 10 years in prison; for war survivors, justice and pain

Accused Guatemalan war criminal Jorge Sosa is scheduled to be sentenced this morning in Riverside for immigration fraud.

He could be deported to face trial for his role in a 1982 massacre, during the height of Guatemala's 36-year civil war.

The notoriety surrounding his trial has had a two-fold effect on Guatemalan refugees.

They are haunted by memories of wartime violence... but they don't want the world to forget.

KPCC's Leslie Berestein Rojas has the story.
