The fast food industry has been roiled by a growing movement to unionize workers and a call for a living wage of $15 an hour. Labor organizers are calling for fast-food workers across the country to stage a day of strikes on August 29 in what is expected to be the largest event in the ongoing campaign.

This morning, fast food workers across the country have been staging protests, calling for an increase in wages. These demonstrations began in New York last fall. Today marks the first time such an event is being held in southern California.
