All chimpanzees officially on the endangered list
As of Tuesday, chimpanzees, both wild and captive, will be labeled as an endangered species.

As of Tuesday, chimpanzees, both wild and captive, will be labeled as an endangered species.

As of Tuesday, all chimpanzees, both wild and captive, will be labeled as an endangered species by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. 

The new classification is a change from previous classifications. While chimps in the wild have been considered endange​red, chimps in captivity were labeled threatened.

Dan Ashe, the United States Fish and Wildlife Service’s director, explained more.
