The film, A Girl and a Gun, is about the history of gun ownership, and its deep relationship with men and masculinity. Even when women wield guns in pop culture, the stereotypes tend to be tomboys, evil villains or cold-blooded assassins.  Cathryne Czubek, the director of the film, said she tried to explore the reality of women and gun ownership.
