7 things to know about the new Will Ferrell pop-up bar in Hollywood

By the beard of Zeus!

For 10 days only, starting Monday, you can catch a Will Ferrell themed bar at the TCL 6 Chinese theaters where you'll no doubt, be able to order one of these:

I love scotch

The name of the pop-up bar is "Stay Classy" in reference to one of Will Ferrell character Ron Burgundy's signature sign off in "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy."

Zach Neil co-founded the pop-up. He spoke with A Martinez about what "Stay Classy" had in store for the next 10 days.

1. There's a Stay Classy bar in New York, but it's about half the size of L.A.'s.

"In New York, as you may know we are very cramped on space and we had a very small space in the East Village of New York and now we are having a much larger space with the fine folks over at the Chinese theater and so we are able to accommodate many more guests and we're having lots of events..."

2. There's an event planned almost every night.

"We have our ugly sweater Christmas party on the seventh. We have our holiday pajama party on the eighth. We have our Elf dance party on the ninth. We have our Anchorman remix party on the 10th. On the 15th we're doing Talladega nights, so we're encouraging people to come with mustaches and Nascar teeshirts...that is the programming so far. We're thinking about maybe throwing a couple other things out in the mix."

3. Even though the bar is named "Stay Classy" all of Ferrell's characters get some love.

"We do all of the Ferrell flicks. We pay tribute to all of the characters and we try to give everyone equal presence, but since it is the holiday season, we're going to be focusing a lot on "Elf" but there'll plenty of "Anchorman" and Ricky Bobby in there as well."

4. Will Ferrell isn't directly involved, but his charity is.

"He has this great charity, it's called Cancer for College and what they do is they raise money for children who have survived cancer and now it's time to go to college but their families have been depleted of funds from finding and battling the disease. And he's raised millions and millions of dollars over the years and sent so many kids to college. So basically what we do is, we sell merchandise, we raffle things, we do a round-up where if your bill is like $19.50 we'll round it up to $20, customer willing, and we donate those proceeds, we donate the proceeds from apparel and we just try to raise money for the cause..."

5. Will Ferrell might make an appearance.

"You know, they asked us that in New York and we said we had no idea and literally a couple days later we got a call that we were going to do a television program with him and then his mom came into the bar and had a drink...So he's been super super supportive sideline to this...I would say the answer to that is, we certainly hope so. We have no official notice that he's coming but in New York we had no official notice and there he was."

 6. You can just show up to the bar, regardless of whether you're a big deal or not.

"You absolutely can show up, you can bring many leatherbound books with you and you can show up. There's no need to RSVP, we offered an RSVP kind of for a VIP service. But we have plenty of space and so it's open to the public, anyone can just come on down."

7. There's a chance the bar can extend its stay.

"I would love that because your people and your weather are so fantastic, I would much rather be here. So what we're going to do is, we're going to see what the reaction is in this initial pop-up and if there's still an interest and a demand after 10 days we may try to extend that, post Christmas and see how it goes."
