Last Thursday, two community groups filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court to stop a ballot initiative in that would allow a Wal-Mart Supercenter to be built in Inglewood. Larry talks with Reverend Altagracia Perez, Holy Faith Episcopal Church, about her opposition to the giant retailer's expansion into the Southern California grocery market. Then he'll examine how Wal-Mart has managed to become the most power company in the world and how the proliferation of Wal-Mart stores affects local, regional and nation economies. Joining Larry are Bernard Parks, Los Angeles City Council member from the 8th council district, Pete Kanelos, Regional Director of Government Relations, Abigail Goldman, Los Angeles Times staff writer and Burt Flickinger, III, Managing Director of the Strategic Resources Group, a consulting firm in New York.
